US Twitter and Facebook flagged tweets and posts by Donald Trump as he kept making “potentially misleading claims”. The new label on a Trump tweet said: “Election officials have certified Joe Biden as the winner of the US Presidential election”. Facebook’s label on Trump’s latest post said that “election officials…have found no evidence of widespread fraud”.
NIGERIA Gunmen abducted over 80 Islamic school students in northwestern Katsina state, but the pupils were quickly rescued. The foiled abduction comes less than two days after the release of 344 schoolboys who were kidnapped in the same area on December 11. The kidnappings have highlighted the insecurity in northern Nigeria.
