a Maharashtra team had indeed been taken to the Amarnath cave to shape the lingam. But that’s after this year’s relatively high temperatures precluded a natural lingam. T.N. Ganju, Kashmir’s leading Shaivite scholar says, "This is no time to hold the yatra, the snow hasn’t melted yet, politics is wrecking the basic concept of the pilgrimage."
