India's spin duo can be a bother, but for that they have to bowl last. Remember, South Africa's top-class pace attack gets to move in for the kill the first day.

On Wednesday night, India thumped Kenya to set the stage for the final. In the process, Tendulkar and Ganguly set a world record partnership. Laxman came, played a crisp drive, was bowled soon after and, according to his captain, promptly went to sleep. Sehwag came in at one drop, played a cameo. The boy has good potential and can go places. The bowlers did not exert themselves too much. Kenya should have been bowled out as SA had done on Monday night, but were not.

However, despite this win, the question of whether the unthinkable happened the last time these two met is still doing the rounds in the cricket ground corridors here. From what I hear, the icc's anti-corruption unit are investigating the Indian team's loss to Kenya. Now this can really be unsettling, to say the least. No doubt they would have to speak to certain players and the management, at least to get their side of the debacle. However, let's assume nothing untoward happened, and anyway we know that the unit in all likelihood won't be able to deliver. Then the loss to Kenya becomes an even bigger problem. It...
