Running a gallery is both challenging and exciting, as it has dimensions from mounting an exhibition, documenting and meeting clients.

Your gallery Art Alive introduced an online portal to promote emerging artists in 2011. How successful has the venture been?

Yes, it's growing rapidly. Art is just a click away and the buyer can choose from various genres.

How has the art scene evolved in the past decade?

Our art has also got a foothold internationally and the audience base has broadened.

Recently, your gallery made an effort to 'decommoditise art'. Do you think more focus is on the commercial aspect now?

Art and commerce go hand in hand. It's important to balance the two so that creativity does not suffer.
