Sinha, died in a shoot-out ahead of the rally, a minister was charged with kidnapping him, and one of Laloo’s relatives saw his house being set on fire. Shops remained shut with traders alleging extortion. But the huge rally, in Laloo’s words, was a huge success and a befitting answer to the VHP’s trishul diksha campaigns.
