Shaadi Se Pehle

You cannot look for a logical plot in Shaadi... but you do expect some nice lines and ribtickling situations. But these are few and far between.

Akhiyon se gal kar gayee...: that's a song in Shaadi Se Pehle which tries to capture the magic of Mallika Sherawat. A completely erroneous description. Here's a woman who just can't talk with her eyes. She only uses her pout, cleavage and swinging torso. No problems with that. In fact, Sherawat could have surely qualified for the adjective "refreshing" in her early films. But watch her now on screen, on magazine covers, in TV interviews and you can sense that she is losing her spontaneity to the seductress image she is constantly trying to live up to. She has become trapped in her own blatant sexuality. In contemporary Hollywood, I can think of two distinct models of sexiness—Pamela Anderson and Anjelina Jolie. Jolie's enigma grows on you with every film but Anderson has become plain boring, nothing more than fodder for some mean, sexist...
