With Saurav Ganguly injured, Rahul Dravid captained India in the first two Tests against Pakistan last year, and scored a career-best 270 in the third Test, ending with a series batting average of 77.25. Excerpts from an interview with Debashish Dutta:

How was Pakistan last year?
We enjoyed the tour thoroughly. What was significant was that the team played a good brand of cricket. Everything becomes great if the team finds its winning rhythm. There was a big question mark on whether the tour would take place or not because of non-cricketing reasons but we finally went to Pakistan and received a warm welcome. Each one of us tried to give our best. Hospitality, travel, hotels, cricketing atmosphere—all were perfect which helped us enjoy thoroughly.

Do you feel any extra pressure playing against Pakistan?
No, for me it would be a Test or a one-day series against any opponent, whether it's Pakistan or Zimbabwe. The bottomline is the same, we all have to give our best and contribute enough for the team's victory.
