I have always lusted for long drives. And 2,500 kilometres, the figure I scored on the odometer between December 1 and 15, was near-orgasmic. The country roads offer a great escape from our otherwise predictable lives, the yatras do a super job of speeding us back to our roots, of reintroducing us to all the simplicity and warmth that got left behind when we lost our way in the urban jungle. Importantly, they remind us of a beautiful truth: the rich diversity that our nation has on offer.I ran into an interestingly diverse set of people along the way. In the cities, in the towns, in the little hamlets and villages. Get ready to say hello to the real India. Live. And discover if it's happy. Or sad. Or simply hopping mad.
