Tell us about the book.

It’s a compilation of voices of Indian women. Each essay is united by common themes; certain key values are integral to all success stories.

Why ‘30 Indian Women in Power’?

I wanted to do something for women in India. Also, I was often asked about the status of our women by foreign CEOs and officials.

You say that ‘ambition’ in women should no longer be seen as a bad thing. What role did ambition play in your successful career?

I was fortunate that I was given the opportun­ity and was eager to prove that I could deliver.

You talk about the importance of a supportive family too.

Support from those around you helps develop confidence and ensures success.

Most women face gender bias. Do you think the book ignores that section?

Not at all. The stories of outstanding women are told with the aim to, hopefully, spur change in perception about women.
