The Singapore Airline chief explains why his focus is firmly on cargo out of India

Every major airline's talking of incresing cargo flights from India. But is there enough cargo ?
Yes there is. There's been a growth in cargo traffic primarily because of the quantum jump registered by courier traffic. We recently increased our freighter frequency to Delhi to serve the large market for cargo in north India.

How do you view the Indian export sector ?
It has tremendous potential.

Has The Indian government provided enough support to the export sector ?
Yes. However procedures can be further improved upon to spend up clearances.

Does Singapore Airlines face many problems carrying cargo from India ?
Not much, really.

Of late, the government and many exporters organisations are demanding improvements in the export sector. What in your opinion, are the areas that need improvement ?
Trans-shipment is an area with great potential and we will,therfore,support any step taken to improve it.

Do you operate exclusive cargo flights from India ?
Yes, we do. Seven in all
