Usually it’s the stars who come fashionably late for interviews. But in our case, a misunderstanding over the address had us reaching an hour late for our exclusive one-on-one and photoshoot with filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, who was in Delhi to release the Tharki Chhokro song from his forthcoming film PK. Yet, the thorough gentleman that he is, Hirani was uncomplaining and quite free-flowing in a chat with Namrata Joshi.

Now that PK is nearing release are you anxious or stressed out?

I am looking forward to the film. I have been with it, rather it has been with me, for far too long. It’s time for it to go out to its audience. As for anxiety, I am always nervous. Boman (Irani) used to joke about it, how even one week after the release of 3 Idiots I’d still be asking people if it was working or not.

But the stakes have grown manifold now that you have three consecutive hits and hundreds of crores behind you…
