Have Gun, Will Shoot
It’s a plot to outdo the most dramatic Tollywood script: 44-year-old matinee idol Nandamuri Balakrishna whipped out a pistol and shot two of his dinner guests last week. A leading Telugu filmstar, he’s the son and self-proclaimed inheritor of N.T. Rama Rao’s film legacy. And his connections don’t end there. One of Balakrishna’s sisters is married to ex-CM Chandrababu Naidu while another sister, Purnadeshwari, was recently elected as Congress MP. Her husband is a Congress MLA.

Despite all this, Balakrishna is looking down the barrel. His shooting spree critically injured film producer B. Suresh and astrologer friend Satyanarayana Chaudhary. According to the police, all three were in "an inebriated state" when the incident occurred. Balakrishna has reportedly admitted to the shooting but claims he fired in self-defence after he was attacked with a paper knife.
