The ASI doesn’t seem to have a magic wand after all. Unable as yet to unearth anything remotely related to the remains of a temple, they have not even been able to assess what’s been discovered so far—clay toys, a stone disc, a bone, part of a figurine, semi-precious stones and, now, as reports say, a relic of stones with Allah inscribed on it. The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has appointed two observers of the rank of additional district judges to supervise excavations. Besides, the court has directed that two Muslims be included in the 16-member ASI team. Also Muslim labourers should be employed in the digging and in case there is "any difficulty" in getting them, the Sunni Central Board of Waqfs will make necessary arrangements.
