Seven tiny tables and three bar chairs don’t amount to much—not even in space-starved south Mumbai. But Suzette, the charming and increasingly popular creperie in Nariman Point, proves that good things often come in small packages.
Suzette specialises in traditional buckwheat crepes from Brittany, that rare creation that seems to work with both adults and children. While there is an array of specials with complex fillings—including the delicious Pomme (goat cheese, gomasio, honey and steamed apple) and Foret (pan-seared mushroom, creamed spinach, emmenthal)—it’s possible to pick and choose fillings as well. Which works well with fussy children. So my own brood of three girls always shares a crepe stuffed with emmenthal and a lovely, smoky chicken bacon; then they order the light, citrusy classic...
