What draws you to music?

I’ve always enjoyed music. My family has been my biggest influence.

How do you reconcile the fierceness of a fast bowler with the creativity of an artist?

The two complement each other well. Music has always been a way for me to relax, but now, I’m taking it seriously with Mick and our band.

What gives you greater fulfilment?

I love both. When I’m playing cricket, bowling fast is the only thing on my mind. When I’m playing music, I always have a smile on my face.

What’s it that brings you to India so often?

The people, food, culture, friendliness. I’m welcomed with open arms. It’s a great feeling.

Does your cricketing popularity in India make your work as a musician easier?

Indeed, because we have an existing fan base. They have come out and enjoyed our gigs, which has been great to see.
