How was Shadow Kill received in the US?
Very well and beyond all my expectations.

But did they understand it?
From the Q&A after the screening, they seem to have.

Time magazine said that your best audience is you. How true is that?
When my work is exciting and worthwhile for me, it should be interesting and worthwhile for my audience too. I cannot be easily pleased by my work. In a way, the report is right.

It also said you don't accept criticism.
When the critic is irresponsible and ill-informed, one cannot be respectful to his comments.

That you want your audience to watch your films on your terms. Is that so?
Yes I want them to watch my films on my terms.

You still have to contend with a 'stupid audience'.
To treat my audience with disrespect is not in my nature. I treat them as equals. I don't know where the misquote came from.

How does one remove the bankruptcy of mainstream cinema?
When you stop going to see them. It's they who treat their audience...
