- CID entered the Limca Book of Records and Guinness Book of World Records for its 111th episode, titled “The Inheritance”, which was canned in a single shot of 111 minutes (1 hour, 51 minutes) without a single cut.
- he CID Operation Talaash contest was launched in 2006 to search for a new officer. Winner Vivek V. Mashru now plays the role of sub-inspector Vivek.
- CID Gallantry Awards, established on January 26, 2010, to celebrate the show’s 12th anniversary, honours real-life heroes.
- There are many Facebook pages devoted to CID; one, ‘Daya Darwaaza tod do’, is inspired by ACP Pradyuman’s perennial instruction to Inspector Daya. His famous line, “Oh my god Abhijeet, ek aur laash!” has also spun out a couple of Facebook fan pages.
