A self-promoting PM cannot see through the designs of large corporations (How to Win Friends, FB Style, Oct 12), hence his overeagerness to meet Mark Zuckerberg. Heads of states usually meet people like him at common meets.
Dinesh Kumar, Chandigarh
That Zuckerberg was allowed to use the tricolour filter on FB profile pictures smirked of hypocrisy of the worst kind. Sachin was panned for cutting a cake with tricolour icing.

Modi has become a brand ambassador for Facebook, a profit-earning US-based corporation. I wish he would sometime hug a poor farmer in his own country with as much enthusiasm.
V.N.K. Murti, Pattambi
You say FB sees India as an easy, vulnerable target. But it cannot manipulate India without duping Modi. And I don’t think Modi is a man who is susceptible to manipulation. His government is unlikely to compromise on net neutrality after Indian users gave it such a big thumbs down. Digital India is Modi’s ambitious project to modernise India and it will surely require the contribution of global tech giants. It is creditable that Modi availed of the opportunity to interact with the CEOs of top US tech companies and impressed them too.

Facebook’s battles with China are known, but Syria and Iran have also banned it. If I were Facebook, I’d wear the bans as a badge of honour. What next? FB banned in North Korea?
Natarajan S., San Jose, US
The PM seems to have taken Silicon Valley by storm, winning enthusiastic endorsements for his Digital India push. However, the litany of complaints from CEOs was familiar.
Meghna A., New South Wales
Modi has been able to carve a niche for himself in an office which had hitherto become the preserve of a pseudo-elitist family. He had a successful trip to the US; what was galling were the comments back home. NRI PM, stage-managed crowds, sartorial issues, dishonest sentimentality etc. They were puerile and reeked of jealousy.
