Apropos your World Cup Special (Feb 21), Mukul Kesavan is right when he says in his piece 1983, A Foreign Country that another World Cup win will never be the same. The victory by Kapil’s Devils was in the nature of giant-killing, today we have a stronger team with over-hyped, overrated and obscenely paid stars. A confluence of political, commercial and vested interests has taken over the game. I pray to God that India does not win if they do not deserve it.
