The Congress seems to be celebrating a festival of scams (Seventh-Year Hitch, Dec 13). Neither the delay in taking action against his telecom minister nor the appointment of P.J. Thomas as chief vigilance commissioner speaks well of the prime minister, though his personal integrity is in no doubt. Something drastic has to be done to stop corruption in all aspects of existence in India, including the media, corporates and judiciary.

With a useless and morally defunct opposition in the bjp, the Congress will most likely romp back home. In a country where judgements come after ages and conviction rates being abysmally low, who is going to get punished for these scams and allegations anyway?

How come our PM is in fast-track mode when it comes to passing the nuclear liability bill but is a mute spectator when his cabinet colleagues strip the treasury like this?

The only way out of corruption is if governments resign over corruption. If you can’t stop corruption, you simply shouldn’t be governing. Exiting is better than presiding over a corrupt government.

Really, if our country has achieved anything in the last 60 years, it’s in spite of politicians, not because of them.
